What is fashion?
Fashion is a popular or the latest style of clothing, hair, decoration, or behaviour. It is also a manner of doing something.
Fashion for me is how I wear my clothes. I don't follow any trend. I prefer to follow my own instincts. It may be outdated for some, but it really doesn't matter to me because what's most important to me is, I am comfortable in my own skin.
I have bought many clothes in the past and I don't think I will ever stop buying new ones. I have had good and bad experiences buying clothes - some that fitted like a glove, some that needed adjustments, and some that ended up being shelved for years.
Regardless of all that, I tend to take good care of all my clothes. You may be surprised that I still keep clothes that I wore when I was 15 years old and they still look as good as new and fit me just as well because I have not changed much.
Now that I am retired and have only time on my hands, I have decided to bring those shelved clothes back to life. How I do this? By reconstruction, of course!
My fashion reconstruction journey started in July 2016. By embarking on this journey, not only do I get to revive my old and pre-loved clothes, I get to clear up my closet space, too.
I am not one who wastes anything because everything to me has a value. As they get older, they become more valuable to me, so much so that it makes it much harder for me to part with them.
But mistake me not as a hoarder because I do not enjoy living in a cluttered space and I do not buy just about anything that is on sale.
I am very particular about things and what I spend my money on because although money can be found, it still requires some sweating.
Enough said, I have dedicated this page as a compilation of all my fashion reconstruction projects.
Every picture tells a story... So, if you want to know more about each project, just click on any of the photos below and read all about it on its corresponding blog post. While you're there, leave a comment on my blog if you like...
